We are committed to reducing paper and going digital to reduce our environmental impact and improve access and efficiency.The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint a Community Grants and Partnerships Officer to oversee the Community Development Business Units financial contributions to external entities, including grants, funding, and sponsorships. The recently formed Recreation and Wellbeing team is excited to fill this new role to enhance our service to the Fremantle community.Key responsibilities include:Act as a primary liaison between the City and external partners. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address community needs, identify funding opportunities, and resolve issues that arise during the grants process.Develop, implement, and maintain partnership agreements that support the Citys strategic goals. Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of partnerships, making adjustments as necessary to maximize outcomes.Foster collaborative projects and initiatives that leverage the strengths of multiple stakeholders. Work closely with community groups, service providers, and other organisations to co-create solutions and enhance the Citys community impact.Oversee the Citys grants management software (currently Smarty Grants) for effective use by internal and external users.Prepare reports, submissions, briefing papers, and correspondence on grant matters for review by the Council, Executive Leadership Group, and Senior Leadership Group.Maintain systems and processes for efficient administration of all funding, including project management, records management, reporting, and acquittal procedures.Organise and support the independent grants panel in evaluating and recommending financial contributions.To be considered for this position applicants must have the following;Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with government bodies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.Strong understanding of policy development and governance standards.Proficiency with grants management software (e.g., SmartyGrants) and office software.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and applicants.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prepare reports, and support grant panels.Experience in capacity building and providing training or support to community organizations.Experience in financial administration, policy development, and capacity building.Knowledge of legislation and regulations relevant to community grant management and partnerships across Community Development sector will be highly regarded.
