Cadia produces gold dor bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The Operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. The Orange region is often referred to as the gateway to Country New South Wales with acclaimed wineries, fine dining, annual festivals and charming heritage villages making for an unparalleled work-life balance.Who were looking for The Manager, Sustaining Capital Projects is seeking to fill the permanent position of Superintendent, Construction Projects within the Sustaining Capital Projects team at Cadia.The primary purpose for the position is to effectively oversee and co-ordinate all on-site construction project execution and delivery aligned to the project plan and to fully comply with Newmonts safety and quality standards, procedures and processes.Key responsibilities will be to:Lead all on-site construction project execution phases and provide effective leadership across in field supervisors and business partnersPlan construction project timelines, resources and milestones for successful deliveryAdhere to all safety protocols and risk assess legal, environmental and/or health and safety issuesCollaborate with subcontractors to ensure work in delivery aligns to project goals and timelinesConduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality and adherence to safety standardsDeliver daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to relevant stakeholdersManage and distribute resources, including workforce, materials and equipment effectivelyFacilitate the development of detailed construction schedules and adhere to project timelinesConsolidate communication and coordination between project teams and partnersSupervise daily construction and commissioning activities to ensure conformance to project plans and specifications.To be considered for the position you will ideally have:Construction project execution and commissioning skills with significant site-based project delivery experience across large scale mining operations (up to $150M)Demonstrated capability to lead multi-disciplinary direct and on-site contractor teams across construction technical expertise including electrical, civil and mechanicalDegree/Diploma in Construction Management or related, and/or equivalent hands-on experienceDemonstrated leadership experience with an accredited Leadership Certificate highly regardedCertificate in Safety preferred with expert knowledge of safety-related legislation and compliance.This residential position will be offered at the Cadia Valley Operations and will suit applicants living in Orange or near surrounds in New South Wales. Domestic relocation will be considered for the ideal candidate.
