Promising a long-term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on an 8/6 (12-hour days) roster.Heres what awaits you:Manage the Technical Services team to meet targets, whilst adhering to safety requirements. Develop personnel directly reporting to this position through coaching, training and regular appraisals.Show strong leadership through well-developed communication skills, including managing for performance and the ability to communicate mining operations information to management and other stakeholders. Prepare forecasts and develop mining strategy with assistance from the geology department, planning and production engineers.Oversee the maintenance of the forward rolling six-month plan in final design stage, and six to twelve months in preliminary design stage using the applicable software. Complete economic assessments on regional stopping blocks to ensure financial viability, inclusive of associated development and infrastructure.Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures. Actively contribute to site safety policy, new initiatives and implement change as directed by the General Manager.Ensure environmental impacts are assessed and included in work and project planning. Operate in accordance with the Companys Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.To thrive in this role, youll need:Experience: Minimum 7 years relevant experience in the mining industry. Ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all engineering. Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices. Knowledge of long-term mine planning. Underground production and planning experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine. Experience with long hole open stoping, narrow vein and room and pillar mining methods. Demonstrated success in leading a professional team. Detailed working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations and awareness of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulations. Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. Competent in the use of mine planning and scheduling software applications. Good skills in spreadsheet and presentation applications. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Ability to read and write English at an Australian Upper Secondary School standard.Qualifications: Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. Western Australia First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency. Current C Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
