Project Officers are an integral part of the Wildlife and Threatened Species Operations (WTSO) Branch within the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships (QPWS&P) division. The Branch plays a vital role in delivering effective conservation outcomes for Queenslands native species and ecosystems, as well as ensuring their safe interaction with the community.The focus of this role is to support management and Wildlife Officers across various locations in Northern and Far North Queensland, who are responsible for wildlife management outcomes. This role will provide assistance and support for projects within the Northern Wildlife Operations team, contributing to the sustainable use of Queensland''s wildlife. It will also involve administrative and internal project support, along with human resource and financial activities.While primarily office-based, the position may include fieldwork such as site inspections, stakeholder consultations, negotiations, compliance activities, and wildlife management tasks involving crocodiles or other species.
