We are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Department (Curriculum) to join the talented team at Whitfield State School, on a temporary basis until 12 December 2025. You will focus on developing high-performing teams, leading curriculum reform, and leveraging teacher leadership opportunities. You will work as part of our teaching and learning team and lead some learning support functions. Your role will support our explicit improvement agenda and key teaching and learning elements. This is a temporary full-time position to commence in Term 2, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. About The Role As the Head of Department (Curriculum), you will lead within the school and beyond with persuasion, clarity, system thinking, and through collective effort. Your Role Will Include Ability to clearly articulate a plan for improvement in a portfolio area Ability to lead with persuasion, negotiation, and clarity of outcomes Significant understanding and experience in explicit teaching, science of learning, Australian Curriculum, and AITSL standards Ability to develop teacher leadership behaviors Ability to build networks and relationships Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To Analysis and discussion of data related to teaching and learning portfolio responsibilities Planning and leading improvements in teaching and learning areas Coaching and providing feedback to teaching staff, focusing on mentors and HAT aspirants Whole school curriculum planning under the direction of the Deputy Principal Coordination and implementation of learning support functions Extensive leadership development opportunities Application Process Please refer to the attached role description for mandatory requirements.
