This role will involve supporting the General Counsel in managing and advising on a diverse range of disputes and providing legal advice to the business on regulatory matters.A few of your responsibilities:Manage and drive outcomes across a diverse caseload of litigation matters.Assist with internal and regulatory reporting regarding disputes and regulatory issues.Provide legal advice and support to the business throughout the complaints handling process and assist with early resolution of matters where appropriate.Assist with drafting correspondence and legal documents relevant to complaints and disputes.Provide legal advice regarding regulatory and contentious issues.Manage and advise the business on whistleblower disclosures.Represent the company in conciliations, mediations and hearings before tribunals, commissions and dispute resolution bodies.Instruct and manage external law firms/counsel for externally briefed matters.About you:You will have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively service and manage internal business stakeholders (including senior leadership) and competing demands in a legal role in which you will be sitting alongside your internal clients.You will need a law degree and 5 - 10 years of post-admission experience in a reputable law firm or in house legal role with demonstrated experience driving exceptional outcomes in a diverse range of litigated matters.Experience managing discrimination complaints or employment disputes before State commissions and tribunals will be highly regarded.Experience advising on regulatory issues, including notice responses will be highly regarded.You will need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and multiple priorities effectively in a highly regulated business.Our cultureAt The Star, we are committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace that we know will contribute to exceptional experiences for our guests, a great place to work for our team members and positive outcomes for our communities.
