With seven offices throughout Australia, we are committed to remaining big enough to deliver and small enough to care.The OpportunityOur environmental science and planning team has a strong pipeline of projects in Tasmania and around the country, for built form and statutory planning approvals in the mining, transport and renewable energy sectorsWere seeking a dynamic and driven Principal Planner who can demonstrate a high level of experience and proficiency across all aspects of town planning and urban design. We take a collaborative, team-based approach in the delivery of our projects and work together in the sharing of knowledge and skills to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.As Someone Who Excels At Building Strong Networks With High-level Stakeholders Youll Represent Pitt&sherry With Credibility And Professionalism In a Range Of Settings In The Following WaysActively pursue new business opportunities by cultivating client relationships, identifying market trends, and responding to tenders and requests for proposals.Develop and present pitches and proposals for new projects, collaborating with the business development team as required.Provide expert advice on matters including planning pathways, planning policies, land use, and environmental regulations, ensuring that all projects meet statutory requirements.Working with local, state, and federal government authorities to obtain planning approvals and navigate regulatory frameworks.Lead and mentor a small team of statutory planners, providing guidance on civil and environmental approval processes.What You BringTertiary qualified in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline;Substantial working knowledge of planning systems and ability to understand, interpret and communicate plans, policies, guidelines, schemes and design outcomesPrior consulting experience preferred in a Senior or Principal planning role, with demonstrated ability to lead on large planning and/or approvals projectsThe ability to both work independently and mentor, guide and lead other team members.A team focused, collaborative work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a client service ethos.
