This role can be based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office. We aim for continuous improvement and excellence in all we do.If you are driven by purpose and eager to make a meaningful impact, this is your opportunity.You will join a team that values momentum, humility, and the belief that better decisions come from great people.We look for individuals who care about doing whats rightfor our members, our business, and each otherand who want to shape the future of superannuation in Australia.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the execution of Line 1 risk and control activities, embedding effective risk management practices across the organization.Document, design, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate operational risks.Coordinate testing of the design and effectiveness of key controls, providing pragmatic recommendations to strengthen the control environment.Facilitate workshops and conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) to promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance.Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of risk and control processes.Provide ongoing advice and coaching to risk and control owners to embed strong risk practices and culture.Qualifications and ExperienceProven experience in risk management, compliance, and control advisory within superannuation and financial services industries.Understanding of superannuation business activities, products, and regulations, including APRA guidance.3-5+ years of relevant experience with a track record in risk advisory and compliance.Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage and influence diverse audiences.Preferred AttributesTertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline (desirable).Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess information and provide actionable insights.Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Why Join UsProfessional development opportunities, engaging work, and supportive leadership.Inclusive culture fostering collaboration and innovation to make a meaningful impact.Career growth opportunities, benefits, and rewards to support your well-being.Mercer, a part of Marsh McLennan, is a global leader in helping clients achieve their investment goals, shape the future of work, and improve health and retirement outcomes.
