PN812 Assistant Director Property and Security EL1 Ongoing/Non-ongoing; Full-time Location: Townsville, QLD Closing: Sunday 4 May 2025, 11.59pm AEST Contact Officer : Sascha Thyer, Director Business Operations, Ph. 0438 708 508 The Position We are seeking an experienced public sector property and protective security professional to join the Property and Security Services team located at the Reef Authoritys Main Office in Townsville. The position provides high-level support to the Director Business Operations in all aspects of sustainable property management, protective security and business continuity. This role provides a corporate service to the whole-of-agency. The position has responsibility for a range of matters related to the Reef Authoritys sustainable property management requirements. This includes liaison with the Reef Authoritys appointed property service provider (PSP); management of leasing arrangements, asset management, coordination of protective security requirements (Commonwealths Protective Security Policy Framework) and the Business Continuity arrangements. As part of the Reef Authority leadership team, the position will influence change (including cultural change) and provide a significant contribution to innovation and business improvement strategies. Key Responsibilities Accountable for leading a team, planning and managing allocated people and financial resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows and evaluating business outcomes to effectively deliver the Reef Authoritys Property Management, Protective Security and Business Continuity arrangements. Anticipate change and establish projects and priorities, monitor progress and work to deliver required sustainable property services outcomes, or programs (aligning with the Reef Authority Sustainability Strategy). Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve business innovation, drive change (particularly for sustainable procurement and sustainability in the built environment) and the delivery of Reef Authority objectives and milestones. Develop strategies to enhance sustainability and value for money in relation to expenditure associated with property and facilities management (e.g. office fit outs, fleet vehicles, uniforms) and provide leadership and oversight of all property and security related projects/initiatives and activities. Coordinate and prepare complex high-quality advice and written material appropriate for an executive level audience. Perform the duties of the Assistant Agency Security Advisor Property as stipulated in the agencys Protective Security Policy. About You You are able to solve more complex problems and issues, providing high level policy and procedural advice. You will have experience in government procurement processes and contract management. You are able to proactively manage projects and budgets. You are an experienced leader with skills in building and managing a diverse team to deliver on objectives. You will be experienced in actively managing internal and external stakeholders. You can prioritise and align operational activities to organisational objectives in order to complete tasks on time and to a high standard. You will be an excellent communicator, both in the written and verbal forms across all agency levels.
