Role We are currently seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Brisbane CBD team. The ideal candidate will have process plant design engineering experience in the mining, minerals, and metals industry. DRA aims to build on its solid core team to lead future projects ranging from concept studies to detailed design. Work or lead others to deliver multi-disciplinary engineering designs. Develop mechanical design deliverables, including design calculations and equipment selection, for applications such as pumping, piping, slurries, and process plant equipment. Prepare documentation to support equipment procurement and contract execution, including Scopes of Work, Specifications, Datasheets, and Technical Evaluation of Tender Submissions. Review vendor documentation and facilitate its incorporation into project designs, focusing on constructability, operability, and maintainability. Deliver high-quality technical solutions aligned with Australian and International Standards, Codes, Guidelines, and industry best practices. Execute project delivery within schedule, budget, and quality criteria, with a strong focus on safety. Proactively identify project and technical risks and take appropriate actions for successful outcomes. Willingness to attend site for short to medium-term construction support, commissioning, and operational roles as required. Criteria Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. RPEQ membership or willingness to obtain. Relevant experience in mining/mineral processing in a design and construct environment. Strong technical knowledge of process plant design. Understanding of relevant Australian and industry codes and standards. Innovative and flexible problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues. Focus on delivering high-quality results and strategic work planning. Experience with base metals and rare earth minerals is highly advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey engineering outcomes to clients, stakeholders, and other disciplines. Valid rights to work in Australia.
