The area features over 20km of coastline, foreshore reserves, creek systems, grasslands, and wetlands, making the natural environment a key asset that enhances residents'' and visitors'' quality of life. The Coordinator Remuneration and Benefits is a key leadership role within the People and Culture team, responsible for overseeing accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll and remuneration services across the Council. Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture, this role leads a Payroll Team and promotes a positive, high-performing culture. This role involves conducting system and process reviews aligned with legislative and policy requirements, driving service review and audit recommendations to enhance payroll operations, compliance, and governance. You will also develop a Remuneration and Benefits Strategy aligned with the Councils Financial Plan and People and Culture Strategy, partnering with stakeholders to improve reporting, manage risks, and implement system and workflow improvements. To succeed, you should be degree qualified in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline, with proven experience leading payroll functions in large, complex organisations. Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and industrial legislation relevant to Local Government is highly regarded. You should have advanced Excel skills and experience with MYOB and PayGlobal to generate data-driven insights for strategic decision-making and process improvement. Demonstrated ability to lead change, collaborate across teams, and excellent communication and engagement skills are essential, as is experience presenting to the Audit and Risk Committee and Executive Leadership Team.
