As a Senior Officer in our Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Data Privacy team, you will embody these values and be responsible for the delivery of practical, commercial, and timely advice to stakeholders.DISCOVERyour opportunityWhat will your essential responsibilities include?Working in association with the General Counsel, Australia (Primary), Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (Asia Pacific) (Secondary) and the regional Compliance team to implement and monitor the local Compliance Program and work with Australian management to promote a culture of compliance across the Australian business.Providing timely and accurate advice to both internal and external stakeholders on compliance with local regulatory obligations, data privacy laws, sanctions, licensing requirements and internal compliance requirements.Working closely with other control functions (locally/ regionally/ globally) (Data Privacy, Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit) to identify key control issues and ensure adequate controls are put in place to mitigate risks to the business.Periodic reviewing and updating of internal compliance policies and procedures, including APRA prudential standards, OAIC and ASIC requirements and internal codes of conduct.Ongoing compliance monitoring and provision of compliance training to management and staff to address gaps/ topical issues affecting the Australian business.Reviewing and monitoring regulatory and legislative updates impacting the Australian business operations, ensuring that legal/ compliance obligations are understood by stakeholders and providing timely advice to the management, as appropriate.Supporting the function with ongoing reporting to local management, branch and group committees and governance forums.Supporting the General Counsel or others within the business in liaising closely with local regulatory authorities (APRA, ASIC, OAIC) and industry bodies (ICA).You will report to the General Counsel, Australia.SHARE your talentWere looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:4+ years experience in compliance/ risk related roles, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry or other regulated financial services industry.Risk Management, Audit, Accountancy or Legal qualification would be an advantage.Familiarity with local (APRA, ASIC, OAIC) regulations and requirements.Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to communicate across all levels in the organisation.Excellent command of written and spoken English.Independent worker with excellent stakeholder management capability.FIND your futureAXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
