You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.In this role, you''ll:Helping to keep our people safe, you will be responsible for road maintenance (concrete slab, replacements, heavy patching and other construction and maintenance) of state roads in the Southern New South Wales regionLeading our motivated and well-established Gundagai Construction team, you will help increase the lifespan of our roads while ensuring safe and efficient delivery of maintenance tasks for Road projects.Your role will also include: Working collaboratively with your crew to resolve issues and find the best solution to problems that may arise. Managing any conflict between team members or related external stakeholders. Mentoring and leading by example when providing on the job training to team members in accordance with relevant procedures. Safety remaining front and centre when performing daily activities and all environmental, quality controls are implemented on site. Ensuring scheduled maintenance/project activities are completed within the desired timeframes and within budget in accordance with TfNSW specifications and operating procedures.You will work a nine-day fortnight. In addition to that, there may be requirements to work outside of normal working hours including night shifts, call outs or overtime.The crew is working on various highways throughout the year, and therefore extensive camping, travelling and living away from home for longer duration will be required.We take WH&S of our employees seriously therefore to be successful in this role we require the successful applicant to reside within 50km of Gundagai.For more information, please view a copy of the role description.About you Were seeking a proactive and organised leader with extended knowledge and experience in a road maintenance environment. You will have strong leadership skills leading and developing a team. You will have extensive experience working in civil construction industry. Experience in road construction with speciality in concrete pavement works and maintenance would be an advantage. You will be an excellent communicator with great negotiation and conflict resolution skills along with a proven ability to follow appropriate safe working procedures and resolve routine problems independently. We are also looking at applicants who can build strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects. Youll hold a white card, Traffic Control certification (or willingness to obtain), a valid drivers licence (truck licence advantageous). Basic computer literacy is required for this role, as the position involves using Microsoft software and other TfNSW applications.Who we areTransport for NSW provides a safe, integrated, and efficient transport system.
