Singleton has developed into the economic beating heart of the State and a centre of industry, heritage, tourism and community.Here at Council, we offer a wide range of services, supporting our community vision to be vibrant, progressive, connected, sustainable and resilient.Were committed to providing an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute their unique skills and expertise to make a meaningful impact, while also recognising and appreciating your valuable contributions and ensuring you feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.ADD VALUE - THE ROLEThe Team Leader - Disaster Risk Reduction is responsible for leading a small team in the delivery of multiple Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives including the development of a Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy, executing tasks identified by the Strategy as well as supporting the needs of the Local Emergency Management Committee.Key responsibilities include:Project manage the Disaster Risk Reduction grants deliverables including the development of project plans, monitoring budgets and undertaking milestone reporting and evaluationsDevelop and implement disaster readiness and recovery policies and strategiesCoordinate the ongoing establishment and support preparedness initiatives including Get Ready Teams in identified communitiesDeliver community education programs and community strengthening activities in preparedness for response and hazardsStrengthen relationships between community and disaster response agenciesEssential to this role is tertiary qualifications in environmental or social science, or relevant experience with disaster risk reduction complemented by demonstrated understanding of current State and National Disaster Risk Reduction strategic documentation.
