Permanent Full Time - ToowoombaApply now Job no: 504978Employment type: Full TimeLocation: Toowoomba & Darling DownsCategories: DisabilityAbout the RoleOversee the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle Support services in the Toowoomba area. Lead a team of Disability Support Workers to ensure that the people we support are receiving high-quality care to live their best lives.This is a Permanent Full-Time position for a candidate based in the Toowoomba area. You will utilise your local Toowoomba connections and knowledge to support the growth of our disability services in this region. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and will be proactive and motivated to make a difference in their local Toowoomba community. This is a hybrid opportunity where you can work some of your days each week from home, with an on-call component and occasional shift work.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support a team of Disability Support WorkersEnsure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of disability services and ensuring active support of clientsFacilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and supportersCollaborate with key stakeholders, ensuring national consistency in delivering a positive serviceManage, monitor, and report on incidents and complaintsAdvocate for clients in relation to Human Rights with a sound understanding of Restrictive PracticesParticipate in a rotating on call rosterSkills & ExperiencePrevious leadership experience with strong knowledge of the delivery of services to people with a disabilityDiploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experienceExperience with and knowledge of NDIS fundingEstablished influencing and negotiation skillsA passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sectorAbility to think creatively and use initiativeSuccessful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and an NDIS Workers Screening Check.About theOrganisationLife Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia.
