You''ll be passionate about partnering with the business Sort Center team in Craigieburn to ensure WHS risks are managed. In this site, we expect you to continue driving our Amazon WHS culture with the site leaders, embedding Amazon WHS policies and processes, and ensuring compliance with all applicable local legislative obligations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizens, you will lead continuous improvement to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for our Associates. A successful Site WHS Manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.The Site WHS Manager must be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train Operations Leaders on Amazon WHS policies and assist the site teams in incorporating safety standards. You will identify best practices and incorporate these into our standards to continually improve occupational health and safety. You should possess excellent safety program and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations.You should be comfortable working within a global company and leveraging resources from different parts of the world to support your success. The Site WHS Manager will lead other team members (e.g., Workplace Health and Safety Coordinators) and create leadership development plans for your team.Key job responsibilitiesManaging the health and safety function at the SC, including supervising staff to ensure objectives are met.Proactively engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across the site.Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within your responsibility.Ensuring compliance with Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards, developing local site procedures as needed.Completing risk assessments related to WHS hazards.Measuring site performance against safety policies, identifying deficiencies, and implementing corrective actions.Analyzing safety metrics and incident trends to allocate resources effectively.Performing site WHS audits, identifying non-compliance issues, and implementing solutions.Ensuring proper record-keeping and database entries align with standards and regulations.Leading and mentoring Safety Associates or H&S representatives and championing the WHS committee.Training site leadership and associates on WHS responsibilities under policies.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.Bachelor''s degree.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including pivot tables, charts, and graphics.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.Experience implementing lean principles and process improvements in an operational environment.In the spirit of reconciliation, Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, and community.
