Horse Trainer Full TimeNorth Bloodstock Pty Ltd located in Scone in the Hunter Valley is currently seeking highly experienced and capable staff to join our team on a full-time basis.We are looking for a motivated, determined & experienced individuals who have professional horse stud experience.Horse Trainer/Breeding Duties will include:Overseeing daily care and supervision of horsesTraining and preparing young stock and mares for saleEducating yearlings including teaching them to walk, stand and paradeMonitoring mare ovulation and pregnancyFoaling mares and early education of foalsAssisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foalsEssential CriteriaKnowledge of horsemanship practice at Certificate III level as a minimum standard, or in the absence of a qualification at least three years professional experience with breeding horsesA minimum of at least two years experience handling & working with thoroughbred horsesProven knowledge & experience of horse handling & training methods specific to the thoroughbred breeding industry, including working with broodmares & foals and preparing weanlings and yearlings for saleOral & written communication skills of a level to take instruction & prepare basic reportsSound knowledge of health & safety obligations & demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training & breeding of horsesAdditional Desirable CriteriaAbility to undertake administrative responsibilities, including bloodstock and training record keeping and supervision of staff at sales and on the farm if requiredAbility to take leadership of a team when requiredTerms of EmploymentThese are full-time positions, with a minimum commitment of at least 2 years.The salary will be above award in the range of $72,000 to $77,000 per annum.
