The role ensures the integrity, efficiency and compliance of key operational processes of ASXs clearing and settlement facilities complying with all regulatory obligations to meet our licence requirements. The role includes strategic leadership, operational oversight, stakeholder engagement with market participants, regulators and infrastructure provider. Working in a fast paced, real time and deadline driven environment, you are the escalation point for all operational matters for clearing and settlement and for the daily movement of cash and securities across our correspondents accounts.What You Will Be DoingLead and manage all aspects of the Clearing & Settlement operations across multiple markets (e.g. equities, fixed income, warrants) functions in line with the Operations Strategy and the business line prioritiesDeliver strategic and commercial advice to assist with decision making, competitive positioning, policy response, regulatory compliance, consultation input and budgetary issuesDesign, shape, and manage the strategic direction for Securities & Payments, Clearing & Settlement Operations.Provide appropriate resources across dual locations for the effective operation of S&P Clearing & Settlement ServicesManage the customer and stakeholder impact of operational and technical issues and their resolution and ensure appropriate internal and external incident reportingProvide support and direction to staff including performance feedback, mentoring and coachingProvide effective, on-going communication to team members to ensure a working environment which is engaged and aligned with the organisations goalsLead the development, maintenance and monitoring of core systems, applications and processes which underpin the S&P Clearing & Settlement ServicesPromote business process automation to enhance the quality, speed, dependability and versatility of the operations environmentManage an annual cost centre budget and report actual to budget with variances in monthly financialsResponsible for the team maintaining compliance with operating rules, licence and regulatory obligationsProduce professional and timely reports for regulators, executive management and relevant Boards and present as requiredLiaise with external regulatory bodiesEnsure the effective transition and readiness of project and development initiatives into the live environment, maintaining focus and delivery for the customerResponsible for the team maintaining compliance with operating rules, licence, regulatory obligations, BCP planning, testing and executionWhat You Will BringDemonstrated experience leading a team in a high performance, dynamic operational environmentExceptional communication skills, written, verbal and presentationDeep knowledge of the Australian securities and bond market environment and understand the products in the Australian Clearing, Settlement, and sub register environments.Broad knowledge of the Australian Financial MarketsStrong delivery focus and customer service mindsetHighly developed analytical, investigative and problem-solving abilitiesDemonstrated experience setting or influencing strategyAnd if youve got some of this, even better:Experience in interaction at Board/Executive management level of businessesPrevious experience consulting with regulatorsKnowledge of Participant systems, operations and connectivity models across Front, Middle and Back Offices environmentsWe make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how youll help us to live our values.
