Job Summary:The Crew Lead - Fiber will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The role involves ensuring project completion according to quality and safety standards while maintaining staff efficiency.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Lead major project crews, provide training, and ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines. Hold weekly safety meetings and communicate performance issues to the Project Manager.Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and budget compliance.Install work area outlets, terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mount faceplates, and adhere to labeling standards.Build and install network closets, including mounting backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optics. Install grounding and complete IDC connections.Perform testing such as continuity tests, troubleshoot issues, and install various fiber connectors for multimode & single-mode fibers.Terminate jumper cords, outdoor and indoor fiber, and install fan-out kits.Calculate end-to-end loss budgets per TIA/EIA standards.Complete all paperwork accurately and timely, including timesheets, work orders, and change orders.Perform network testing with OTDR and troubleshoot using appropriate tools. Conduct mechanical and fusion splicing of fiber cables, including building entrance and direct buried splices.Physical and Mental Requirements:Must be self-motivated, professional, and capable of working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and traveling as needed. Proficiency with tools and problem-solving skills are essential.
