Operating for more than 45 years and employing more than 1,300 staff around Australia, Mind is a leading employer of people with lived experience of mental health challenges, recognising their unique ability to connect with and motivate clients and guide recovery.About the serviceThe Sub-Acute short stay Adult Step-Up Step-Down (ASUSD) residential service, delivered in partnership with QLD hospital networks and the local health service, supports adults with a psychosocial disability up to 28 days transitioning from a hospital setting back into the community or to prevent admissions whilst residing in the community. ASUSD works within a recovery focused, clinical treatment framework providing personalised one-on-one support, shared supports and group activities based on clients strengths and goals as identified in their recovery plan.About the roleWe are seeking compassionate, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioners for casual opportunities to work alongside caring team on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Bundaberg area. You will provide intensive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve their wellbeing goals, build capacity and daily living skills, strengthen social connections, enhance community networks and grow confidence to live independently in the community.Key responsibilitiesDeliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.Provide information and mentoring to clients to establish relationships with families and carers, create community networks and access to relevant services.Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to clients recovery goals.What youll bringTertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate and perform these duties as required as part of the role.Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.Able to provide a record of Vaccination Preventable Diseases or able to obtain vaccinations against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B or other diseases as required by our Partnership with QLD Health.BenefitsSalary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Converge International,for you and your immediate family members.Professional development through regular supervision sessions.Interested?To apply online, visit Mind Careers - reference number 497456.
