We support our customers, and their customers to do more with payments.Position Purpose: The purpose of the Senior Legal Counsel, Pacific role is to be a strategic business partner and play a key role in providing legal leadership to create value, contributing to strategic and business decision making and achieve the Companys growth objectives.Key Responsibilities & Duties:Legal Advisory & Commercial ContractingProvide strategic legal advice on complex issues to business stakeholdersPartner with global legal team to deliver unified business solutionsAdvise on commercial-legal aspects across business functionsCollaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Finance, R&D, Professional Services, Operations) to achieve business objectivesManage high-stakes legal matters autonomously, including contract negotiations, corporate advice, and potential disputesDraft and negotiate diverse commercial agreements (MSAs, SOWs, procurement, licensing, software development agreements)Advise on governance and company policiesStrategic Legal LeadershipIdentify emerging legal trends and proactively advise on risks and opportunitiesWork with stakeholders to implement new contract frameworksExecute strategic legal projects within budget and timelinesImprove efficiency in legal operationsDeliver educational sessions to raise awareness of policies and processesOptimise legal workflows through technology adoptionSupport innovative business models and product launchesRegulatory Compliance & Data PrivacyStrong understanding of global privacy regulations (GDPR, Privacy Act)Conduct privacy impact assessmentsManage cybersecurity risk from a legal perspectiveCoordinate timely responses to privacy, security, or confidentiality breachesWork effectively in matrix environments with cross-functional teamsAdapt to changing priorities using agile methodologiesGuide stakeholders through significant legal or regulatory changes with effective communication of complex legal matters to non-legal teamsBuild consensus across diverse stakeholdersStrong ability in end-to-end contract negotiation including drafting, attention to detail and negotiating skills with demonstrated problem solving experience.Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel and leading complex legal matters.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.Capable of building trusted relationships with internal and external clients using balanced insights and impactful communication to influence decisions and actions.Practical and solutions-oriented.
