Every Patient Matters.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced enthusiastic Sterilising (CSSD) Technician in permanent full-time capacity reporting to the CSSD Manager. At Epworth we perform a wide range of complex surgeries across all specialities. The recent introduction of the T-Doc instrument tracking system will assist you in your everyday practice to identify robotic, navigational and complex custom-made instrumentation.To be successful in this role:You are flexible to work across various shifts, are highly motivated with good problem-solving skills with an ability to adapt and embrace constant changes within a working environment.You will have:Completed a Certificate III and IV in Sterilising Services or other relevant qualificationMinimum 3 to 4 years clinical experience as an Instrument TechnicianSound understanding and knowledge of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS4187)Excellent team work skills with ability to work collaboratively within a busy team with changing priorities and work demandsOutstanding customer service skills with ability to build close working relationships within the CSSD team, the operating theatres and other key areasExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenWorking knowledge of relevant regulation and standards impacting on sterilising servicesHigh level of understanding of OHS, with good manual handling techniques and basic level chemical safety within the sterilising servicesEpworth Freemasons consists of two sites. The Main Hospital is on Albert Street East Melbourne has a total of 12 operating theatres. The Victoria Parade site is just across the road and consists of an additional 6 theatres, including our Maternity wards. We often share staff across the two sites.Freemasons primary specialities include: Orthopaedics, Gynaecology/ IVF, Urology, General, Plastics, ENT/ Maxfax Ophthalmology and Endoscopy.
