This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Events Officer and working in close collaboration with the Community Engagement department as well as the Executive and Councillors. As our new Civic Events and Functions Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering the Citys civic events, citizenship ceremonies, and functions. The role also includes assisting with the planning and delivery of the Citys Major Event program. Who Are We? What Youll Need To succeed in this role, the candidate should have: Experience in events or functions management, preferably within local government. Knowledge of policies and guidelines related to event management, with strong project management, planning, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on customer service. Physical capacity for manual handling tasks related to events setup and pack-down, signage installation, etc. Willingness to work after hours and on weekends as needed. Analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive industry experience. Computer literacy skills for report writing, record management, and correspondence. Drivers license, Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate. Whats In It For You?
