Workshop Fabricator / Light WelderJoin our team as a Workshop Fabricator / Light Welder and enjoy a competitive hourly rate of $45.00 - $47.50 plus overtime penalty rates. This is a day shift role, Monday to Friday, based in Rydalmere Rail Maintenance facility, with immediate start and an initial 6-month contract with potential extension.Company OverviewOur valued rail services client is one of the largest suppliers of railroad and transit system products and services in Australia. They are seeking an experienced handyman all-rounder capable of completing carpentry, mechanical, and welding tasks.Position OverviewAs part of an agile team, you will be responsible for completing tasks related to carpentry, cabinetry, mechanical, and welding assembly within a controlled workshop environment.Role Tasks & DutiesAssemble cabinetry and workshop benches following schematic drawings.Disassemble and reassemble mechanical components as required.Operate a hand TIG welder (full training provided if needed).Cut, punch, form, stamp, and weld mild steel.Ensure accurate structures by following detailed schematic drawings.Skills, Experience, and CompetenciesProven practical skills in mild steel welding, carpentry, and mechanical work.HRW Forklift License and VOC in overhead crane are advantageous.Certification III in Cabinetry, Carpentry, Mechanical, or Welding is highly desirable.Additional RequirementsAll candidates will need to complete an onsite welding competency test and demonstrate carpentry and mechanical skills during the interview process.What Is On OfferHourly rate of $45.00, plus overtime penalty rates.Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.Day shift hours from 6:30 am to 2:36 pm.Immediate start with a 6-month initial contract, with potential for extension.If you''re interested, please apply now or email your resume to dean.harrison@2xmrecruit.com.au.
