The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, experience with AWS cloud services, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.This role involves strong analytical skills and working closely with stakeholders to understand data needs, performing ETL processes using AWS Glue, designing, and optimizing data models in Redshift, and creating insightful reports and dashboards in Tableau.Key Responsibilities:Analyse and translate business requirements into technical specifications for data workflows and reports.Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using AWS Glue to transform and load data into the Data Lake and Redshift.Perform data modelling, schema design, and optimization in Redshift to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality and integrity.Create, maintain, and optimize Tableau reports and dashboards to support business intelligence and analytics needs.Develop and enforce best practices for data management, including data security, data governance, and data quality standards.Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance the BI/Analytics platform.Other duties as assigned by Manager.Experience and Skills Required:Bachelor''s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role in the financial services industry.Strong proficiency in AWS Glue for ETL processes, including writing and debugging ETL scripts.Extensive experience with AWS Redshift, including data modelling, schema design, and query optimization.Proficiency in using AWS Data Lake, S3, EFS for data storage and management.Experience with Tableau for data visualization, including building and maintaining dashboards.Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance.Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including star schema and snowflake schema design.Knowledge of Python (preferred) or another scripting language for data processing and automation.Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Experience with other AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Cognito and IAM.Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.Experience with Dev-Ops process and AWS CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, such as JIRA, confluence.Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics) is desirable.Ability to understand the business and transform data into reports.Ability to interpret reports and relate it back to stakeholder business requirement.Ability to manipulate data using Excel (use of Alteryx would be bonus).Experience working cross-functionally and working with different and remote teams.Experience determining priority and urgency of managing multiple concurrent tasks.What we offer:Competitive compensation package including superannuation and benefits.Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and innovative environment.Flexible work arrangements Flexible from suitable location as agreed with Manager.Collaborative and supportive team culture.This role is based in Sydney, Australia.
