This dedication and love of the job ensures that every duck to leave Pepe''s is of the highest quality and standards.An excellent career opportunity exists in our QA department as Quality Assurance Assistant/2IC, reporting to the Quality Control Manager at Pepes Ducks.About the roleThe Quality Assurance Assistant/2IC will play a critical role in ensuring that all poultry meat products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position involves overseeing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and implementing quality control measures to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.Duties include:Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g. HACCP)Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality assurance activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, corrective action plans and summary reports for farming division.Review QA Monitoring Forms, prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key metrics, findings, and recommendations for improvementWork closely with production and processing teams to foster a culture and clear communication of quality and ensure understanding of quality standards.Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring the companys practices remain compliantOversee product sampling and testing procedures to ensure that products meet quality specifications and safety standards.Drive Good Manufacturing Practices, cleaning and sanitation throughout the Processing FactoryCollaborate with external laboratories for microbiological testing, nutritional analysis, and other quality assessmentsDaily pre-operational checks monitoring plant hygieneLead initiatives to drive continuous improvement in quality assurance processes and overall product qualityThe ideal candidate:Experience and formal qualifications in food safety / HACCP in a manufacturing environment or Principles and Applications of HACCP certificate or willing to obtain.This role would ideally suit an experienced QA Line Operator who is looking to take a step higher within the QA Department. The ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team as well as a current drivers license and flexibility with hours worked is a must.To be successful:You must be reliable, have very good attendance and can follow instructions as well as comply with work health and safety and safety guidelines.
