The roleAre you a communications all-rounder with a passion for driving social impact for children and young people in need? Come and join us!Reporting to the Head of Communications and Public Affairs, the Marketing and Communications Officer will craft engaging and accessible content for a range of platforms and audiences, bring a sharp eye for detail to proofreading tasks, develop and design marketing materials and collaborate with internal teams to produce high-quality, compelling and on-brand communications.This is a diverse role that requires creativity, flexibility and strong relationship-building skills.About our organisationYouth Off The Streets is a not-for-profit organisation that provides children and young people in need with safety, support and education for a positive future. We offer homelessness and housing services, alternative high school education, First Nations support services, alcohol and other drugs counselling, youth justice support, community outreach, life skills workshops and vocational training, among other services and programs.Key responsibilitiesCopywriting for internal communications and external content including website, social media, newsletters and publicationsCreating marketing collateral and graphics using CanvaEditing and proofreading content and marketing materialsManaging website content uploads and updates (WordPress)Producing monthly reports on the performance of content on social channels and websitePitching editorial and other content ideas and providing rationale grounded in support for organisational objectivesProviding high-quality communications advice and service delivery to the organisationOverseeing invoice processing for the Marketing and Communications team as requiredManaging creative brief requests from other business unitsSelection criteria (includes but is not limited to)Tertiary qualification in communications, media, marketing or a related discipline.Two years experience in a similar marketing or communications role.Exceptional writing skills and the ability to identify, research and craft memorable content.High attention to detail with well-developed copyediting and proofreading skills.Strong initiative and ability to work to deadlines.Flexibility and adaptability in order to work well within a small and collaborative team.What we can offer youA supportive team environmentCareer progression and development pathwaysEAP for yourself and your familySalary packaging up to $15,900Rewards and benefits programTo applyPlease provide:A cover letter that responds to the selection criteria in full and answers the question: Why are you interested in working at Youth Off The Streets?Your CVAt least two recent samples of your writingThe closing date for applications is Monday 19 May 2025, however interviews will begin immediately, with a view to the successful candidate commencing as soon as possible.At Youth Off The Streets, diversity, equity and inclusion are part of our DNA.
