With strong passenger numbers, terminal upgrades underway - there has never been a better time to join QAL.What youll contribute to:We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Technology Operations Manager and is responsible for the integrity and security of QAL''s network and communications systems as well as providing guidance and direction on technology choices related to this domain. The role is responsible for maintaining, supporting, monitoring, identifying and rectifying network and communication issues, security vulnerabilities and performance issues.The ideal candidate will pride themselves on delivering excellent technology solutions and an in-depth understanding of network technology. A minimum of 5 years professional experience in network engineering or a similar role is desired. Cisco qualifications are necessary, and experience with Palo firewalls is desired. Good communication skills are a must.Key deliverables/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendorEstablishes network specifications by conferring with users; analysing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocolsThe creation and maintenance of overall network plans, encompassing the communication of data, voice, text and image, in support of the organisations business strategy.The processing and coordination of appropriate and timely responses to incident reportsDefines, documents and carries out small projects or sub-projects, alone or with a small team, actively participating in all phasesCisco networking (switching and routing)MPLS Networking and other WAN TechnologiesPublic Cloud Networking (Azure/AWS)Campus/Data Center networking (Fibre and copper cabling and Patching) technologiesVMWare / virtualisation platformsPRTG and other monitoring platformsIP Telephony/PBXsWhat we offer you?This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive organisation with a great culture and assist in the transformation and growth of the business.
