We are one team, working together to get things done. Job Description: Office Location: Abilene, Texas, United States This is an in-office position. Scope/Contacts: Consult with application owners and vendors to create/configure operational environments. Test environments may be created for application-level testing before programs are moved into online production. Server hardware and load balancing ensure maximum performance. Operational changes to operating systems and active networks are maintained via Group policies. The environment, including operating systems and end-user software, must be installed, monitored, and supported. The role requires quick and efficient handling of a heavy and diversified workload, with a focus on excellent customer service. Travel and driving a personal or company car may be required. Essential Functions: Assist with hardware and software problems. Assist with installation and support of new hardware and software. Assist with planning, deploying, and maintaining server-based support systems. Troubleshoot technical difficulties and user access issues. Maintain reports of problems and resolutions. Handle patching, application updates, and virus-related duties to protect the server environment. Provide technical support to the help desk for end-user access or application issues. Adhere to Help Desk service standards and provide good customer service. Detect and resolve moderate errors, which may involve lengthy troubleshooting and impact on costs. Participate in the sales and service culture, support organizational values, and follow company policies. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent and at least two years of experience in installation, systems administration, and hardware maintenance in a Microsoft/Intel server environment. A degree in an IT-related field may substitute for one year of experience. Proficiency with Intel-based server hardware platforms and configurations. Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies is preferred, along with multi-server environment experience. Certifications or training related to Microsoft environments are a plus. Ability to work as a team member with some supervision. Courteous, able to handle deadlines, and good interpersonal skills. Judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment. Professional demeanor.
