Activities undertaken by the Technical Advisor will be aimed at fulfilling organisational objectives and supporting the Policy and Advocacy team in furthering research, policy and advocacy activities, developing guidance and stakeholder engagement on behalf of CPA Australia and its members.Your Key Duties Will Include:Identifying key issues of relevance to CPA Australia members and of public interestAssist with developing policy positions on relevant issues in consultation with the External Reporting Lead, other Policy and Advocacy team members, CPA Australia management and membersProvide analysis and feedback on policy developments including standards and legislative proposals developed by governments, standard-setters, regulatory bodies and other stakeholdersInitiate or undertake research activities to enhance CPA Australias reputation as a thought leader and to further the member and public interestDevelop and present information through various communication channels including presentations, webinars and podcasts.Briefings for the President, Board, CEO, Chief of Policy Standards and External Affairs, the Reporting and Assurance (RA) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Centres of Excellence and others as relevantEngagement with members through the RA and ESG Centres of ExcellenceSupporting the External Reporting Lead on financial reporting policy matters and the ESG Lead on sustainability reporting and other ESG matters.About You:Experience in a technical accounting or similar roleExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to identify and develop key stakeholder relationships and to maintain existing key stakeholder relationshipsDegree in accounting, economics, finance or related disciplineCPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification or working towards it (required)Why We Love Working HereWe are a Values led organisation, we Create opportunity, Pursue excellence, Achieve togetherHealth and Wellbeing sessions, learning labs, generous reward and recognition program.The people, you''ll work with like-minded and talented colleagues who aspire to be the best.Our members, they are at the heart of everything that we do.Hybrid working, spend at least two days a week in the office and choose where you spend the other three.Busy, fast paced, and we are passionate about what we do.Paid parental, volunteer, study leave, and the ability to purchase additional leave.Learning & Professional Development opportunitiesWe are global, so global mindsets are encouraged.About UsCPA Australia is Australias leading professional accounting body and one of the largest in the world.
