Job Description

The SCO is looking for a Senior Philanthropy Manager to play a central role in driving the major gift strategy for the Orchestra asecuring funding for a wide range of priority projects and programmes.The Senior Philanthropy Manager will play a central role in driving the major gift strategy for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, focusing on expanding membership of the Principal Conductors Circle (with a minimum annual membership of 5,000), fostering long-term corporate partnerships, and securing funding for a wide range of priority projects and programmes. These include our Creative Learning programme, concerts programme, touring, New Music Fund, player Chairsponsorships, SCO Chorus development fund, recordings, and capital costs such as instruments as well as identifying new revenue streams.The postholder will lead the development of strategies to maximise income from Individual Giving and the legacy programme, Sir Charles Mackerras Circle, while managing the Fundraising and Events Officer to ensure effective execution of fundraising initiatives.In close collaboration with the Development Director, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will work to identify and cultivate relationships with new high-net-worth individuals and potential business partners, securing major gifts for the SCO. To maximise funding, the postholder will gain a thorough understanding of upcoming projects across the organisation and work closely with colleagues to develop compelling proposals for funding.This role is pivotal in advancing the Orchestras fundraising efforts, with a primary focus on securing major gifts, enhancing corporate partnerships, overseeing Individual Giving, and leading the development of the legacy giving programme to ensure the long-term sustainability of the SCO.Full-time permanent, starting ASAP.Salary: c.42,000 - 47,000Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 09.30 to 17.30, with one hour for lunch. You will be expected to work additional hours as necessary, including evening and weekend work, to serve the requirements of the company. It is expected that this may amount toapproximately one evening per week averaged over the course of a year, but this is an estimate only.
