Role Overview This role involves working on our world-class clearing and settlement system, primarily enhancing the CHESS system that processes over 25 million equity trades monthly. It is suitable for an experienced engineer with a successful delivery track record, emphasizing collaboration. Key Responsibilities Design and develop reliable, stable software solutions meeting business needs. Provide third-level support for CHESS and related environments. Perform non-functional testing and performance analysis. Optimize database performance and maintain technical documentation. Install, configure, and support software systems and environments. Ensure quality and security in code development and review. Support testing activities and collaborate effectively across teams. Candidate Profile Extensive experience in software development lifecycle. 10+ years in COBOL, OpenVMS OS, and related technologies. Proficiency in COBOL batch processing, SQL, Oracle RDB, and OpenVMS system features. Knowledge of messaging protocols, networking, and possibly cloud and other modern technologies. Desirable: financial services experience, AWS, UNIX/Linux, and relevant degrees. Personal Attributes Ability to deliver quality work on fixed schedules. Customer-focused and adaptable to change.
