The National Gallery''s business structure and financial management are complex, governed by the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework (CRMF), legislation, directions, and guidelines. The Gallery is funded through government funding, commercial revenue, sponsorships, and private donations. It possesses heritage assets valued over $6 billion, including a purpose-built building, which require significant accounting judgment.The Head of Financial Operations, reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, provides hands-on leadership to manage a small team responsible for the Gallery''s financial framework, policies, internal controls, financial management information system, and reporting.Key to success is the full optimization and integration of the financial system, TechnologyOne, along with reviewing systems, processes, and capabilities to meet demands related to financial information, e-commerce, and environmental changes.This role requires a highly driven CPA/CA finance professional passionate about adding value and leading modernization efforts to enhance financial management and organizational performance.The key duties include:Motivating and guiding the finance team to support streamlined processes, continual improvement, and best practices.Providing leadership, coaching, and training to promote strong financial management across the Gallery.Developing and maintaining the internal control framework, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and good governance.Managing workplans and workflows for timely and accurate financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, credit card management, month-end processes, tax compliance, and government reporting.Maintaining the asset register, including valuation and stocktake of infrastructure, equipment, and the $6.8 billion National Collection, in line with accounting standards and management practices.Delivering accurate annual financial statements and records for the Foundation, Trust Accounts, and consolidated statements, with quality assurance, detailed reconciliations, and insightful analysis.Building collaborative relationships internally and externally, including liaising with auditors.Ensuring the integrity of financial systems, controls, and records.Optimizing and integrating TechnologyOne with other systems to improve efficiency.Performing other duties as required, aligned with skills and abilities.#J-18808-Ljbffr
