The Deputy Director will provide expert technical advice, leadership, and operational management to develop Australia''s first open-access quantum computer, supporting strategic goals and ensuring effective operation of the facility.Key responsibilities include:Develop research design and proposals for NQCTProvide expertise to end-users and ensure efficient operation of NQCTContribute superconducting quantum computing expertise to research methodologiesPerform complex experiments, simulations, and feasibility studiesSupervise research activities and develop new research products and technologiesDesign testing procedures and collaborate with industry and governmentContribute to research outputs and grant applicationsLead and develop the research team, support researchers, and foster collaborationDrive safety culture and represent the facility at eventsSupport teaching activities and mentor staff and studentsAbout YouWe seek an expert in circuit-QED quantum computing with a PhD in experimental solid-state quantum computing, an established research profile, and experience with superconducting quantum circuits, chip design, microwave engineering, and infrastructure operation.
