(Senior) Investment Solutions Specialist - Climate (Base in Beijing)The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank focused on financing infrastructure with sustainability at its core. AIIB collaborates with partners to support green, technology-enabled infrastructure and regional connectivity.The Sectors, Themes, and Finance Solutions Department (STF) supports innovative investment projects and introduces new financing modalities, emphasizing themes like green infrastructure, climate, gender, and inclusivity. STF also represents AIIB in international forums and networks with development partners.We are seeking motivated (Senior) Investment Solutions Specialists with expertise in climate change, climate finance, climate technology, and climate risk assessment.ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation of AIIBs Paris Agreement commitments across project cycles, including project identification, appraisal, design, and implementation from a climate perspective.Assess projects for Paris Agreement alignment and climate finance, conduct climate determinations, and support tracking and reporting.Conduct climate risk screening and assessments at the project level, supporting mitigation and adaptation strategies.Collaborate with policy, environmental, and social specialists to deliver comprehensive solutions.Engage with members and clients on climate risk and adaptation diagnostics, supporting national planning processes.Appraise climate risks (transition and physical risks) and develop response measures for various financing types.Ensure integration of latest climate science and technology into AIIBs risk management processes.Support climate monitoring and reporting provisions during project implementation.Contribute to the development of methodologies, policies, and tools based on operational experience.Manage climate databases and analyze data for risk assessment models and tools.Support capacity-building activities on climate and environmental issues.Minimum RequirementsMasters degree or equivalent in atmospheric science, climatology, earth science, geography, civil engineering, or related fields, with 5-10 years of relevant experience.Experience in climate impact modeling, risk assessment, adaptation, and disaster risk reduction, especially in developing countries.Skills in statistical analysis of climate data, geospatial information, and database management.Experience with software development, digital tools, or databases is advantageous.International experience in climate projects or research preferred.Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills in English.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.Experience with other multilateral development banks is a plus.AIIB values diversity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates regardless of background.
