Join Melbourne Airport as the Head of Demand and Planning for Technology, where you''ll drive strategic demand management, capacity planning, and resource optimisation to support innovation and operational excellence in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.As the Head of Demand and Planning for Technology, you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing comprehensive demand management, capacity planning, and resource optimisation strategies within Melbourne Airports technology function. This pivotal role will ensure that technology resources are effectively aligned with business objectives, enabling us to achieve operational excellence and sustainable growth through advanced planning methodologies.Melbourne Airport is at the forefront of a dynamic expansion, poised to support the city''s ascent to become Australias largest city within the next decade. As we soar towards new heights, we''re embarking on ambitious projects, including the development of a third runway, state-of-the-art terminals and major business park projects creating unparalleled opportunities for growth and innovation.Key responsibilities:The role''s duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Develop and implement a demand management and capacity planning framework aligned with business goals and industry best practices.Lead the processes for identifying, prioritising, and capturing technology demands, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and operational requirements.Design capacity models to forecast technology resource needs, track utilisation, and identify optimisation opportunities.Implement frameworks to maximise efficiency in technology investments and drive continuous improvement in resource management.Work closely with PMO leadership to optimise resource allocation across strategic and operational portfolios.Build and lead a high-performing team of planning specialists, fostering a data-driven, collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement.Oversee the financial planning for technology investments, partnering with finance to ensure budgets align with technology resource needs and priorities.Key Qualifications & Experience:Established senior leadership experience in complex technology environments.Strong expertise in demand management, capacity planning, or resource management roles.Proven experience in leading technology planning functions, building forecasting models, and implementing planning tools.Extensive background in technology delivery, operations, or strategic planning.Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.MBA or advanced degree in Technology Management, Operations, or Analytics (beneficial).Professional certifications in resource management, strategic planning, or demand forecasting (e.g., CPIM, PMP) are advantageous.Key Skills & Attributes:Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on building a high-performance culture.Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into actionable technology plans.Expertise in forecasting, resource optimisation, and financial planning within a technology context.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.A deep understanding of the unique challenges of working in a highly regulated, mission-critical environment.We understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%.
