Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.We are introducing a brand-new role to our businessa Finance Business Partnerdesigned to be a game-changer in how we leverage financial insights to drive growth.As a stand-alone role, this is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership, work across multiple teams, and add significant value to our organisation.With a broad scope and the ability to make a tangible impact, youll be a key player in shaping the financial and strategic direction of our fast-scaling businesses.About usThird Door Ventures is a portfolio of technology and tech-enabled companies helping consumers navigate big life decisions like buying property, choosing higher education, and retired living.Our group includes:Urban.com.au Australias top off-the-plan real estate marketplace.We''re a team of over 80 talented professionals based across Melbourne (HQ), Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, and the Philippines.After 12 successful years of bootstrapped, profitable growth, we''re now accelerating to scale significantly over the next 35 years.What''s the Opportunity?Were hiring a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner to work closely with our Group Head of Finance and senior leaders across the business.As the first commercial finance hire, this role offers a unique opportunity to build new capabilities from the ground up.You will proactively drive strategic insights, optimise financial and operational performance, and enhance decision-making across our rapidly scaling businesses.This is your chance to step into a high-impact role, influencing growth, operational efficiency, and shaping strategic direction as we pursue ambitious goals.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Finance & Decision SupportAct as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing actionable financial insights.Establish timely and accurate FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.Initiate data-led strategies to drive revenue growth, cost optimisation, and working capital efficiency.Commercial Excellence & Performance AnalyticsDevelop financial models and business cases supporting growth initiatives and investment decisions (tech, M&A, partnerships etc)Collaborate with product and data teams to leverage data infrastructure and implement real-time analytics dashboards and KPIs, driving accountability and improving business performance.Partner with stakeholders across business units to optimise resource allocation, improve pricing strategies, and increase operational efficiency.Operational ImprovementSupport the Group Head of Finance in enhancing financial systems and processes.Drive continuous improvement of reporting cadence (rolling forecasts, budgets, departmental performance tracking).Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategic finance initiatives.Attributes and AbilitiesCA/CPA qualified with 5+ years of commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering experience, ideally within tech-enabled businesses (digital marketplaces, SaaS, professional services).Exceptional financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic insights for business leaders.Hands-on, proactive, and collaborative in stylecomfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.What About Our Team?We are a team that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and driving meaningful results.
