The role plays a pivotal role in crafting and presenting powerful narratives that honour the experiences of Holocaust survivors and victims as well as caring for the Museums collections.The Manager of Exhibitions and Storytelling collaborates with and manages MHM curators, librarians and collections assistants to ensure that exhibitions are both historically accurate and emotionally impactful, fostering empathy and understanding among diverse audiences.The role requires a passion for audiences, attention to detail and a commitment to operating in a team environment.About YouYou have:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Archival/Museum/Curatorial Studies or similar and at least 3 years professional experience in similar roleKnowledge of Holocaust history, or World War II history (desirable)Experience in championing storytelling as an audience-engagement approach within a museum contextKnowledge of best practice in the management of museum collectionsExperience leading a teamEffective people and project management skillsYou are:Passionate about joining an organisation committed to combating racism, antisemitism, and discrimination in the communityAble to adhere to strict deadlines and budgetsAn organised and experienced project manager with the ability to handle unexpected situationsUnderstanding of cultural sensitivities related to archival and testimony collectionsAn excellent communicator with strong attention to details skillsAble to create and nurture relationships with a variety of different stakeholders, both within and outside your organisationAbout UsThe Melbourne Holocaust Museum (MHM) is Australias largest institution solely dedicated to Holocaust education, research, and remembrance, fostering the values of respect and acceptance of difference.Established by Holocaust survivors in 1984, the MHM is an award-winning museum and research centre, showcasing two permanent exhibitions and a diverse rotation of special exhibitions.
