With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hours drive from the CBD, Melbournes North is fastbecoming the place to be!Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Administration Officer to join the Broadmeadows Adult Inpatient Unit- Mental Health Division.About Northern Health:Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbournes rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About Mental Health Division:Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.About the Role:The position will be integral to the Broadmeadows inpatient unit in ensuring the effective delivery of all administrative functions ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.These include but are not limited to,Reception, medical records, data entry into the various patient health information systems, records maintenance other database management, minute taking, application of Microsoft Office tools, KPI collection and orderingAssisting in Mental Health Tribunal (MHT) hearing, All CMI Data entry relating to MHT and Mental Health & Wellbeing Act (MHWA) data and other areas as directedAdmission & discharge data entry for Adult Inpatient Unit & Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)All consumers documentation is maintained within the Northern Health electronic medical record (EMR), Clinical Patient Folder (CPF)This is full time fixed term (parental leave) role until October 2025.To be successful in this role you will have:Ability to resolve issues and day to day problems. For example, the ability to make non-judgmental decisions when chasing up outstanding paperwork, and liaising with external partners.Possess well developed communication and inter-personal skillsDemonstrated experience with telephone reception or switchboardExcellent communication skills including the ability to relate appropriately and professionally with consumers, staff and management of the serviceRelevant experience and ability to provide a broad range of administrative and intermediate level keyboard support functions including word processing and database entryCompetent application of the Microsoft Office Suite packageAbility to prioritise and determine workload prioritiesAbility to work effectively both in a team environment and work independently and unsupervisedAbility to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary health environmentDemonstrable initiative and flexibility in an evolving ServiceUnderstanding of the requirements for confidentialityDisplay a strong team ethic and a willingness to provide and receive support where requiredAbility to learn quickly and effectively with an attention to detailNext Steps . .If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
