But what we are really building is a better future for everyone we share the planet with.As a Grid Connection Manager reporting to the Senior Manager, Grid Connection & Technology, youll lead the end-to-end grid connection process for 3-4 of our battery energy storage (BESS) projects working closely working with NSPs, AEMO and Akaysha''s internal teams. This is a full-time, hybrid role, based in our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office, 2-3 days per week.What youll doLead the Connection Application processes, including Connection Enquiries, Generator Performance Standards (GPS), Connection Application R0, R1 design/modelling packages, R2 validation and testing, Hold Point testing and all registration submissions for approval by AEMO/NSP.Collaborate with Akayshas Business Developers and Engineering teams on optimising project designs, equipment selection and grid connection planning.Liaise with OEMs, external engineering consultants and AEMO/NSPs, including troubleshooting of power system models and control system performance.Negotiate technical performance standards with AEMO and NSPs in consideration of Akayshas long-term operation of the assets and regulatory requirements.Support regulatory analysis of new rules and regulations in the NEM and other global markets, including submitting responses to AEMC rule changes and other NEM / non-NEM market regulations.What youll bringDegree in Electrical, Control, or Power Systems Engineering (BE, BSc, or MS)Demonstrated experience in renewables and electrical engineeringKnowledge of NEM grid connection processes and Australian engineering standardsExperience working on utility-scale renewable or power transmission projectsFamiliarity with power system modelling tools (PSSE, PSCAD, Powerfactory)Willingness to travel domestically periodicallyWork on projects that are big, bold, and making a real impactCompetitive pay with above-market performance bonusesGenerous benefits including annual wellbeing allowance, professional development support, paid parental leave, and mobile phone allowanceFlexible, hybrid work with centrally located, modern officesA passionate, growing team with a strong focus on learning, shared purpose and supportive leadership.We believe diverse teams build better solutions for the planet and its people.
