Events Engagement Officer, Queensland OfficeAbout usThe Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is the leading advocate for surgical standards, professionalism and surgical education in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The College is a not-for-profit organisation that represents more than 8600 surgeons and 1300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.RACS also supports healthcare and surgical education in the Asia-Pacific region and is a substantial funder of surgical research. There are nine surgical specialties in Australasia being: Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.About the roleIn this role you will provide support to the RACS QLD State Committee in achieving their goals around engagement by developing and running events and other engagements.Member Engagement and Delivery of events and activities. RACS QLD prides itself on the engagement with its members and other stakeholders.Together with the Manager and Executive Officer, lead the development, coordination and delivery of events.Support the Professional Development and office staff to deliver courses based in QLD.Work with the Executive Officer to build strong relationships with sponsors and seek opportunities for new state sponsors.Provide a high level of customer service to our Fellows, Trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) answer member and other enquiries, resolve matters where possible or refer to other Office staff.Skills and Experience Experience working with government / member-based organisation / or not for profit. Experience and interest in running and delivering events and small projects. High-level customer service skills. Excellent time management skills ensuring tasks are completed in a timely fashion meeting all deadlines. Able to multitask and display a high level of organisational skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Hands-on, positive, can-do attitude.
