About the roleProvide leadership and oversight of communicable disease control programs and activities across the Metro North Hospital and Health Service area. Lead activities aimed at prevention and control of syphilis in southern Queensland. Share duties with other Public Health Physicians as needed to ensure effective disease control responses, public health medical input into other issues, and workload management. About youOur ideal candidate will be able to carry out key responsibilities in line with Metro North Health''s values: Provide leadership within the Communicable Disease Control team, especially within the Sexual Public Health team, including the Queensland Syphilis Surveillance Service (QSSS). Focus on coordinating responses to diseases and outbreaks within the jurisdiction by investigating, managing, and responding to disease incidents. Develop and update local communicable disease management guidelines and assist in creating statewide or national guidelines. Foster scientific enquiry and research through collaboration within the department and with other services.
