Located in the Honeysuckle precinct on Newcastle Harbour and moments from the beach and the city''s most famous attractions.About the roleReporting directly to the General Manager the successful applicant will be responsible for: Manage the overall maintenance of the hotel, including preventative maintenance, cost control & contractor liaison. Recruiting, motivating and developing the engineering team. Leading a team to plan and carry out preventative maintenance and general repairs throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort. Manage the hotels WH&S responsibilities. Ensure the compliance of the hotel as it relates to essential services, fire, life and safety. Environmental and sustainability initiates and implementing solutions to improve energy management and conservation. Pool and grounds maintenance. Attend to the property after hours as required for any emergency maintenance matters.About You Minimum 5 years experience in a senior maintenance, facilities, or engineering role in a hotel or commercial property. Proven leadership and team management experience. Extensive knowledge of building systems and services including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, fire safety, and water systems. Solid understanding of WHS regulations, risk assessments, and compliance reporting. Solid understanding of AFSS and building compliance. Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management skills. Highly organised and detail-oriented Calm under pressure and solutions-focused Strong communication and interpersonal skills Committed to continuous improvement and team development Hands-on leadership approach with strategic oversight A robust skillset encompassing both administration and maintenance capabilities Previous experience in property maintenance, building or facility management and the implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
