We are offering exciting opportunities to join our established and comprehensive Mental Health, Alcohol & other Drug, and Wellbeing Team. The team is multidisciplinary and offers clinical care across the stepped mental health care model, from four Wellbeing Place centres and outreaching to over 30 remote clinic locations across Western NSW via 4x4 and light aircraft. There are three positions available in Dubbo and Broken Hill: Two Mental Health Nurses One Mental Health Nurse Practitioner These roles will meet the needs of the Mental Health Nurse in Practice (MHNIP) contract awarded to the RFDS by the Western NSW Primary Health Network. This contract has been operating for several years, with the addition of the Mental Health Nurse Practitioner level of care. The positions will provide coordinated clinical care and therapeutic services to clients living with chronic mental illness in Broken Hill, Dubbo, and across Western NSW. MHNIP is a flexible program, allowing clients to receive services where, when, and for as long as needed, which is especially important for those with more severe mental health issues. The Practitioner role will work with the team and clients to provide higher levels of clinical assessment, diagnostics, and treatment planning, ensuring healthcare equity despite geographical remoteness. The candidates will facilitate a recovery-oriented service in line with current MHNIP guidelines. The roles will deliver a mix of therapy and case management tailored to client needs. Positions are available in Broken Hill and Dubbo. You will join a dedicated team of clinical and community engagement, health promotion professionals, peer workers, and administrative staff. Essential Qualifications & Experience Mental Health Nurse: Credentialed Mental Health Nurse (with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses ACMHN) or ability to work towards this, registered with AHPRA. Postgraduate experience of at least two years as a mental health nurse in a clinical role. Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Nurse Practitioner Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Mental Health. Registered with AHPRA as a Nurse Practitioner. Desirable Significant experience or understanding of working in rural, remote, or population health settings. Experience working in cross-cultural environments. Experience working with rural/remote clients in pastoral settings. Experience working with families, couples, and groups. What are you waiting for?
