Thanks to colleagues based in Europe, the United States, and Japan, we translate immunology breakthroughs into a world-class portfolio of novel antibody-based medicines.For the expansion of our team, argenx is looking for a Medical Director, AustraliaPURPOSE OF THE FUNCTIONThe Director Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation (MAEG), Australia will lead, develop, and be accountable for the country Medical Affairs function and team, ensuring Medical Affairs represents argenxs values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization, developing innovative medicines for patients and upholding the highest ethical standards.Additionally, the Medical Director will be a member of the country leadership team, champion local business needs within argenx, and serve as the primary medical representative with governmental agencies, professional associations, patient associations, and the broader healthcare community.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead and inspire the medical affairs team, ensuring medical expertise, team empowerment, and excellence in execution. Provide performance management, coaching, and development opportunities.Develop and execute the country Medical Affairs plan, including budget control, aligned with global medical affairs strategies and cross-functional country plans.Build resources and capabilities to execute the Medical Affairs plan, including provision of medical information, pharmacovigilance, and product complaints in collaboration with partners.Foster a culture of collaboration with other functions at the country and regional level, including Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Finance, Compliance, and Legal.Establish systematic tracking of impactful medical activities such as scientific exchanges, insights gathering, collaborations, and educational initiatives.Support clinical development and operations teams in executing studies.Manage requests for pre-approval access to argenx products.Ensure high-quality training and ongoing education for the medical affairs team and other functions.Maintain knowledge of local regulations, ensure compliance with policies, and promote cross-functional understanding of compliance requirements.Contribute to Market Access strategy implementation in collaboration with the team.Oversee promotional material review and approval, acting as final medical signatory.Capture and disseminate knowledge and activities within argenx.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESLeadership experience in high-performing Medical Affairs teams.Capability building to meet country-specific requirements.Knowledge of local reimbursement processes and regulations.Proven ability to build collaborations with medical experts and networks.Deep understanding of complex disease areas and healthcare systems.Strong results orientation, communication skills, and adaptability.Experience with project management, proactive planning, and securing alignment.Passion for leadership, continuous learning, and embodying corporate values of co-creation, innovation, empowerment, excellence, and humility.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMedical, pharmaceutical, or scientific degree (MD, PhD preferred).At least 8+ years in the biopharmaceutical industry, including launch experience.Prior Country Medical Director experience is advantageous but not essential.Experience in complex and rare disease areas, with a background in neurology, immunology, hematology, or dermatology preferred.OTHERValid drivers license.Willingness to travel frequently as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
