Headquartered in Brisbane, we are a dynamic business with projects across Australia and New Zealand.About the Role:We are looking for a skilled Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join our Plant and Equipment team to perform scheduled servicing, repairs, upgrades, and breakdown maintenance on AECs extensive fleet of heavy-duty plant and equipment.The fleet supports AECs project and construction activities across Australia and New Zealand, where the availability, utilisation, and quality of each asset are key to achieving project performance and business outcomes.Responsibilities:Apply technical trade expertise to perform scheduled servicing efficiently, maximising equipment performance and minimising downtime.Diagnose and repair faults and breakdowns quickly and accurately, ensuring high availability of fleet.Travel between sites to carry out scheduled servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance of all mobile plant and machinery.Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts and consumables used.Input into developing asset management strategies and planning maintenance activities across the fleet and project locations in Australia and New Zealand.Communicate clearly with operation/project managers and site personnel about fleet maintenance and repair activities, timelines, and priorities.Adhere to AEC Group values, code of conduct, and compliance with AEC Group policies, procedures, and industry standards.Strictly follow all health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and risk assessment tools.Implement innovative and practical processes and practices to underpin the efficiency and effectiveness of the fleet.We seek an experienced diesel fitter mechanic with a positive, proactive attitude, capable of working across sites, collaborating with project teams, and delivering high-quality maintenance.Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential, as projects are remote and spread across Australia and New Zealand. The working roster will be discussed with the successful candidate, ideally based out of Brisbane or Southeast Queensland, averaging 44 hours per week on a 5/2-4/3 rotation or similar.Qualifications:Trade certification in Diesel Fitter, Heavy Road Transport, or equivalent.Previous experience working on heavy machinery or mobile plant (advantageous).Auto electrical knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is valued.
