The Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service is looking for a Ward Clerk (Administration Officer) to join our Maternity Ward team on a part-time basis (60 hours per fortnight). If you have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.What You''ll Do:Provide courteous, confidential, and efficient customer service to patients, visitors, and staff via phone or in person.Maintain accurate medical and general records, both electronic and hardcopy, in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.Respond to routine patient inquiries and liaise with internal and external services to coordinate appointments and transport.Assist with administrative duties, including managing ward stock, sorting mail, and coordinating repairs of medical equipment.Support effective communication within the team, ensuring smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.What Were Looking For:Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.Experience in providing administrative services in a customer-focused environment.Ability to work independently with limited supervision, while remaining a valuable team member.Proven experience in conflict resolution and managing high-pressure situations.Computer proficiency, including data entry and medical record management.Knowledge of good customer service principles and clerical procedures.Why Join Us?Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community.
