The Nurse Practitioners extended practice role includes, comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex and changing situations within the Palliative Care Service. The NP / TNP is an integral member of the Community Palliative Care Team (CPCT) and this position will rotate between RACF, Palliative Care HiTH and supporting clinical practice within CPCT including running ambulatory care clinics for CPCT patients.Your main duties will include:Criterion 1: Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or working towards same as per the NMBA Guidelines on endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.Criterion 2: Post graduate qualifications at Masters level, in a NMBA approved program of study or relevant clinical specialty, or working towards same.Criterion 3: Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical nursing skills including comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex and changing situations.Criterion 4: Demonstrated understanding of the palliative care delivery system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research and ability to undertake clinical service planning.Criterion 5: Proven high level knowledge and expertise in complex client centred consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation in policy development and quality improvement.Criterion 6: Demonstrated advanced clinical leadership role, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal and problem solving skills across the palliative care service that includes acute, sub-acute and aged care sectors.Criterion 7: Current NSW Class C Unrestricted Drivers License.Criterion 8: Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care KogarahFor further information please contact Simmi Grover, Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Service Manager on Simmi.Grover@health.nsw.gov.auWhy work for Calvary?At Calvary, our staff matter.With over 130 years experience and 18,000 staff and volunteers, we offer an inclusive and welcoming culture where you are valued, drawing on your own strengths, identity and background alongside a team of professionals who care for our patients, residents and clients.Your benefits:NFP salary packaging benefits, discounted health insurance and gym membershipsPaid parental leaveTraining, development pathways and career opportunitiesFlexible hours that make sense for youAs we serve the community across Home, Virtual and Residential Aged Care, Retirement Living and Hospitals, one thing sets us apart.
