You will do this by defining strategies which best support the needs of our clients today and in the future, managing negotiations with senior executive personnel at reinsurers and securing approval of all location based reinsurance transactions. Within this role you will work closely with our CEO and CFO and various members of AIAA Executive, the AIA Group, the AIAA Board and relevant leaders across our business. You will also play a key role on the Finance and Actuarial leadership team.You will support AIAA to meet their overall strategic, business and reinsurance objectives. This is a Sydney based opportunity, and the successful incumbent will demonstrate extensive experience working within the Reinsurance industry.To do this successfully you will:Develop and present reinsurance strategies for AIA Australia, including alternative risk-sharing structures and strategic opportunities to act as a reinsurerExecute Board-approved reinsurance strategies and report progress regularlyPartner with stakeholders for APRA submissions related to offshore reinsurers and capital reliefAssess reinsurer strategic positioning and maintain comprehensive reinsurer relationshipsManage regulatory changes, business escalations, and reinsurer conflictsEngage with internal teams to understand product requirements and source reinsurance capacityConduct reinsurer due diligence, negotiate reinsurance terms, and manage reinsurance offersLead and develop a team of reinsurance specialists, ensuring alignment with strategic goalsEnsure compliance with reinsurance policies and guidelines and achieve agreed SLAs for reinsurance exercisesSuccessful applications will demonstrate:Extensive experience working across superannuation and life insurance, including both the group and retail insurance product offeringsA working knowledge of the regulations governing life insurance, superannuation and retirement incomesExcellent knowledge of the local and offshore reinsurance markets, as well as established personal networks with reinsurersStrong knowledge of the Australian life insurance and reinsurance markets, including the external factors influencing transformation and driving regulatory changeCreativity and an ability to think outside of the box to develop effective reinsurance solutionsThe ability to package information effectively for senior audiencesWhy choose AIA:At AIA, weve made a promise to help people live healthier, longer, better lives.
