The AFLNTs Indigenous Programs department seeks an individual for a position based in Wurrumiyanga on the Tiwi Islands. The role involves working with the Football Development Lead Tiwi Islands to deliver the Tiwi Islands Football Leagues mens, womens, and youth competitions for 2025, with the grand final scheduled for Sunday, July 20. There are opportunities to participate in game development, talent initiatives, and other programs. This role offers a unique chance to immerse yourself in rich culture and footy passion. Accommodation and a Tool of the Trade vehicle are provided. Day in the Life Support the Tiwi Islands Football League competitions through administration and operational tasks. Elevate the junior competitions to a highly regarded fixture. Work with partners to maximize participant engagement and social impact. Support the broader AFLNT team with programs like game development and talent academies. Maintain reporting and participation statistics. Manage AFL assets appropriately. Core Competencies Managing AFL competitions and operations. Coordinating, training, and recognizing volunteers. Maintaining partnerships and influencing stakeholders. Working autonomously, managing time, and meeting deadlines. Managing AFL fleet vehicles. Working within AFL policies and structures. Mandatory Requirements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience building rapport. Ability to work weekends, after hours, and travel to remote communities. Valid drivers license and NT Working with Childrens Check (Ochre Card). Desirable Skills Cross-cultural awareness and experience in Indigenous communities.
